Question 4

How did you use technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

When producing our final product, we have had carry out research as well as plan for our final production with the final stage of writing the evaluation. Throughout this process I managed to use a range of different technologies and websites, this portrays my capability to be able reflect creativity in my work, also to a professional standard. I have also used a range of equipment to make all of the production work do-able.

This list contains the technologies and equipment I have used throughout the process of completing my promotional package.

  • Blogger
  • iMovie
  • PowToon
  • Padlet
  • Unsigned
  • Garage band
  • YouTube
  • Photoshop
  • Prezi

And more…

I also used these technologies in my AS production. However from then to now I feel that my skill have highly improved. When creating a blog post on the research and planning tabs on my blog I ensured that the text was converted into a media platform such as Padlet, Prezi, PowToon etc. this would reflect creativity to the examiner.

For the editing, in our preliminary I shared the job with another member of our group therefore we could link our skills and create the best work to both of our abilities as we had both used iMovie at AS. This then meant that in our final A2 production we had learnt more and could work together agin to create a piece that we thought was professional and to a good enough standard that it was an effective production.  We also use YouTube to help us through any difficulties we faced – this developed our skills further. At AS we produced a short video whereas on this task we had to produce a video much longer and we also had the task of editing to the beat of our chosen song which meant for faster cuts and a more intricate narrative.

The key website we used as A2 was YouTube, here we gained access to watch our chosen song’s original video so that we could gain ideas to adapt them into ours and research other music videos to get a grasp of what we might like to include and gain inspiration, also research typical conventions of our chosen genre. YouTube was the platforms we decided to upload our final edit, as it would reach such a vast audience and is so easily accessible.

We discovered our artist and song choice through a mix of platforms. The two websites we used were YouTube and a website called ‘Unsigned.com’. Here you can search as specific genre to find an artist whom of which is not signed to any record labels. We found that the website was easy to use, and led us straight to our final artist and song choice.
